Dreamscape

Last week I had a dream...I was walking through the forest with my dogs, they were peaceful and deep but dark. We came to a clearing where fields opened to the horizon and the trees were lit with sun. The sky was in impossible blue. In my dream I thought..."I must paint this".

One of my favorite teachers ever, Peter Hirstoff, once told me I should try to paint my dreams, so this is my attempt, but I'm telling you, it's hard! Even though I tried to memorize the image while I was in the dream I didn't come that close to capturing it. That being said, I did not have any paper prepared for the painting when I woke and it took me two days before I could start...next time I will have to try and start painting right away!
