Another trip I took was to San Francisco. I stayed at the Hilton near Union Square and there was an awesome bar on the 46th floor of the hotel. The view encompassed was amazing...the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin County were to the north and you looked out across the city towards the Pacific Ocean and the setting sun. I'm a big fan of fog and sunsets now, it's amazing to watch this huge wall of fog move into the city from the Ocean as the sun sets to the west. It's an amazing juxtaposition of light and water and land. The whole time I was there I kept thinking of a Carl Sandburg poem I read in High School:
The fog comes on little cat feet.
It sits looking over harbor and city
on silent haunches and then moves on.
The fog comes on little cat feet.
It sits looking over harbor and city
on silent haunches and then moves on.
